Civilized Races of Aeryia
Dwarf – The most populous race on Aeryia after the humans, Dwarves live under the sky instead of under the mountains nowadays, working in stone and metal like no others. They are diligent fighters and are commonly found on the boarder patrols and town watches waiting to sharpen their blades on the skulls of the ever present orc and goblin raiders.
Elf – Elves are an artistic bunch and have taken to the blossoming age of peace, culture and stability like a climbing vine. They fulfill vital roles in most of the cultural states in Aeryia, from governmental positions to religious ones, they take very active part in the day to day affairs of ensuring a quality of life for all peoples.
Gnome – The rarest of the races, gnomes are fey little folk that have an innate connection to the natural world and everything in it. Most Gnomes despise city life, instead living in small communities with one another and nature. They get along the best with elves and other like minded individuals that don’t take to the growing use of technology in the world around them.
Half-Elf – Given the intermixed races living along side one another in most nations, half-elven children are more common than one might think. They are naturally talented in the arts and quickly learn the basics of art, music and other intellectual pursuits and thus are some of the most common people one might see attending the various schools and universities of the age.
Half-Orc- Typically the offspring of a brutal rape upon a human woman by a orcish raider, half-orcs are constant reminders of horrific events in the history of any town or village and are often scorned. Most tend to be loners, and nearly all leave their homes as early in their lives as possible. Once outside their place of birth they tend to be widely accepted in this age.
Halfling – The little folk, a fickle and light hearted race that lives alongside humankind wherever they are found. Halflings are renowned for their abilities to grow the best plants and their uncanny luck.
Human – The most populous race on the face of Aeryia.
Nal-Ryai – The Shadow Children originated from an ancient rite that bound their people to some unknown ancient evil that was shrouded in the deepest of shadows. That covenant has since been broken and now they live along side the other civilized races of Aeryia taking a keen interest in both technology and magic, learning to blend the two together into something they term technomancy.
Shelsen – Hulking humanoids that originated from beyond the prime, in the otherworld. They are somewhat tribal and live under an absolute monarch over all the clans. Two castes of Shelsen exist, the Natyr or warrior caste, and the Vidan the arcanist caste.
Soulbound – Living Constructs created by the technomancers of Delnai to replace their field military units and to perform other various tasks once the Shadow Blight started four centuries ago.
Arakin – Dragonblooded Humanoids originally created from the life blood of the three greatest dragons of Aeryia. They now reside alongside the Dragons of Korsaih.
Rhiman – Fiendblooded Humanoids descended from the demons and humans from the creation of the Empire of Belzahar in circa Third Iteration.
